MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS' MEETING HELD AT MONTICELLO, UTAH ON NOVEMBER 9,1959-10:00 A.M.
The Board of County Commissioners met in regular session this 9th day of November, all Commissioners and Deputy Clerk being present, with Commissioner Wm. C. Walton conducting.
CITY CLERK OF MONTICELLO REQUESTS COMMISSIONER'S OPINION
Homer Chandler, city clerk of City of Monticello, met with commissioners regarding a recent billing for gravel in the amount of $75.00. Mr. Chancier reports that the gravel was used in repair work while ex-

tending city water line to Monticello County Road shed, at the request of the county. He reported that the city incurred an expense on the project but that no billing was made to the county, and thought perhaps there might have been some mutual understanding between the city and county regarding such transactions whereby both the city and county would enjoy mutual benefits. He asked for the opinion of the Commissioners Commissioner Walton suggested that the county nullify the transaction and tend to negotiate on future deal-ings whereby the city and county may work co-operatively and enjoy the mutual advantage of so doing. A motion was made by Commissioner Hazelton that the billing to the City of Monticello in the amount of $75.00 for mulch gravel be rescinded, motion seconded by Commissioner Bartell, and carried.
COMMISSIONERS PLAN TO ATTEND MEETING OF STATE PARK AMD RECREATION COMMISSION
A letter was received from C. J. Olsen, director of State Park and Recreation Commission advising of a
meeting to be held at Salt Lake City,Utah on December 18th. 1959, at which time a representation of San
Juan County Commission would be appreciated. Commissioner Walton directed that a letter be written to Mr.
Olsen advising him that the present plans of the San Juan Commissioners are that all commissioners will be in
attendance.
SAN. JUAN COUNTY TOURIST AND INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL "PROPOSAL" INTRODUCED BY DELEGATION
Bill Cline, Benj. K. Hess and Don Smith met in session with the commissioners and presented a Proposal to establish a SAN JUAN COUNTY TOURIST AND INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL. Commissioner Walton suggested that the commissioners be given time for thought and consideration on the Proposal, and asked the delega- tion to meet with commissioners at their meeting on November 16, at which time some decision might be made.
4-H ACHIEVEMENT EXERCISES TO BE HELD AT BLANDING, UTAH
4-H.Achievement exercises for San Juan County will be held at the Blanding High School on Thursday, Nov- ember 19, 7:30 P. M.-Rell Argyle, county agent, requested that a member of San Juan County Commission be in attendance to present the awards, and also give a ten-minute talk. It was unanimously agreed that Comm-

JEOPARDY ASSESSMENT ON MAYBE MINES
Duane Frandsen,attorney at law, F. Bennion Redd, county attorney, and K. R. Bailey, Jr. met with the commissioners regarding a jeopardy assessment against the "Maybe Mines". After an open discussion, Commiss-ioner Walton suggested that the commissioners be given time to confer with the county attorney regarding the matter and be prepared with an answer to Frandsen's proposal at their November 16th meeting. Commiss- ioners unanimously agreed.
EXTENTION ON CUT-OFF DATE REQUESTED
Due to the fact that the black-topping on side grading and other outside work at the New Hospital Site cannot be completed due to weather conditions, the San Juan Commissioners request that the cut-off date be June 30, 1960.
Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
