MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS' MEETING HELD IN REGULAR SESSION ON MONDAY THE 7th DAY OF JULY, 1969.

Meeting opened at 10:30 O'clock A. M. with Commissioner Hazleton in the Chair.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read. Commissioner Young requested that the entry on the Library Board meeting be adjusted to read: "Commissioner Young recommended that the Library Board consider dis-continuing the run to OlJato and any other extremely rough area". Black
With the foregoing addition, Commissioner Young moved to approve the Minutes. Commissioner ^ seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.
Arlow Freestone reported on a drainage problem at the Nursing Home in Blanding.
The Commissioners informed him that the Road Department and the County Surveyor are presently working on
on this problem.
Joe Berry, County Civil Defense Director, reported that there are office furnishings to be picked up in Salt Lake City which are for use in our Emergancy Operating Center.
Commissioner Hazleton reported on the Advisory Council Meeting held the previous week in Salt Lake City and the emphasis placed on public buildings being made useful and convenient for the aged and physically handicapped. The foregoing information was referred to the County Planning Commission.
RESIGNATIONS RECEIVED
Leonard R. Howe, County Fair Chairman, tendered his resignation to the Commission as did Fern Peterson, Fair Board Secretary.
COUNTY FAIR DISCUSSED - TO BE HELD ON TRIAL BASIS
Commissioner Young introduced the motion that the County Commissioners reconsider their decision on the County Fair and continue with the Fair on a trial basis for another year with the following changes: Basically eliminate cash awards; Discontinue the Fair Book and replace it with another form of adver-tising; Charge a "Door Fee" for the Talent Show and Queen Contest. Commissioner Black seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.
RECREATION EXPENSES DISCUSSED
Operation of the Golf Course and salaries paid to recreation workers were discussed.
The Clerk was instructed to send notice to certain recreation employees to meet with the Commissioners
at specified times the following Monday to discuss matters pertaining to their departments.
CHANGES IN SCHOOL DISTRICT VOTING BOUNDARIES DISCUSSED
In as much as the School District Superintendent and County Commissioners had previously re-districted the school voting districts, the County Attorney was requested to draw up legal descriptions of the new districts. See page 15
COUNTY ATTORNEY TO ATTEND MEET IN SALT LAKE CITY
The County Commissioners authorized the County Attorney to attend the meeting in Salt Lake City which was called by the Attorney Generals Office. (July 10th)
MISSILE FIRING SCHEDULE
Athena Area #2: It is now planned to use the safety area on the following days during the third quarter of calendar year, 1969: July 10, 17, 21.
Blanding Launch Area: It is now planned to use the safety area on the following days during the third quarter of calendar year 1969: September 3, 4, 5, 16, 17, 19, 30.
