MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MEETING HELD AT MONTICELLO, UTAH ON APRIL 7, 1959 at 10 A.M. Meeting opened with all Commissioners and Clerk present. AMENDMENT TO LICENSING ORDINANCE
Motion was made by Commissioner Bartell, seconded by Commissioner Hazleton, and unanimously carried, that the following be approved and adopted:
It is hereby ordained as follows:
That Section 17 of the San Juan County Licensing Ordinance, which became effective at 12:00 noon, January 1, 1957, be and is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 17- License fees.
The fee for each license hereunder shall be $25.00 per calendar year and this shall be the same for any business for which a license is required hereunder except that the fee for retailing beer, whether or not to be consumed on the premises, shall be $150.00 per year and the fee for a tavern where beer may be sold and consumed and free dancing permitted shall be $200.00, and further, that the fee for conducting dances shall not be changed from that already provided in ordinances in effect at the time this ordinance is adopted.
This amendment shall take effect immediately. Dated this 6th day of April, 1959. CABARET LICENSE GRANTED
Ralph Hunt met with the Commissioners to get their decision on operation of a Cabaret. An amendment having been made to the San Juan County Licensing Ordinance to the effect that a fee for a tevern where beer may be sold and consumed and free dancing permitted and the fee to be $200.00, a motion was made by Commission-er Hazleton, seconded by Commissioner Bartell, and unanimously carried, that Ralph Hunt be allowed to pay the fee for dancing in connection with the beer license and operate a cabaret at his place of business.
DISCUSSION ON FULL TIME INSPECTOR
John Hackett me t with the Commissioners to discuss the County hiring a full time inspector for building, plumbing, and electrical installations within the County. The matter was discussed and he was informed that at the present time all inspection fees must come from fees for building permits and it was not
feasible to hire a full time inspector. On motion,meeting adjourned.
