The board of County Commissioners met this day in the Clerks office, N. W. Sitton, Leonard Bartell, and Clerk in attendance.

Mr. Reynolds of the Deseret News met with the Board in regard to the County taking a page in the Christmas News, advertising San Juan County, Action was deferred pending consultation with John D. Rogers. Cost of Advertising to be $120.00 for one fourth page.

ATOMIC COMMISSION TAXES

Assessor Lyman reported that the Atomic Commission had protested the assess-ment" of the Vanadium Plant on the grounds that it belongs ot the U.S. Government. Mr Lyman had been in communication with R. E. Hammond of the State Tax Commission, who advised that he get in touch with the and the the County not do anything before.

FARM LAND SURVEY

Mr. Lyman also reported that he comtemplated a survey of the farm lands in the county and that he would need help. It was voted unanimouily that he should hire the help necessary to make this survey, this survey is made for purpose of revaluating the land.

OFFICE EQUIPMENT

At Mr. Lyman's request it was moved by Mr. Sitton and seconded by Mr. Bartell

that a desk and chair be purchased for he Assessor's office and that he make inquires as to the cost of having a counter with drawers built,in the Treasurer's and Assessors office.

MINE ROAD

Mr. Gribble asked that some work be done on a road in the Big Indian vicinity and over which ore is being hauled, as many, as none or ten trucks a day. It was decided to sen the Grazing Patrol there to put htis road in shape for travel. The mine operators , Gribble and Bryant, to pay for a man to operate the Patrol

ROAD ON BOULDER

Eldon Rhodes, who had been requested to get in touch with the commissioners or Attorney, appeared andreported that he had fenced across a certain road on Boulder. The Commissioners instructed Mr. Rhodes to put in a cattle guard. The County to furnish material.

BEER LICENSE

Upon a motion by L. J. Bartell and seconded by Mr. Sitton the application of Jesse McAlister for a license to sell light beer at the Log Tavern was allowed and his bond approved.
