MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS' MEETING HELD AT MONTICELLO, UTAH ON NOVEMBER 3rd, 1959, at 10 A. M.
Meeting opened at 10 A. M. with all Commissioners and Clerk present, Wm. C. Walton conducting.
The regular meeting of the Board of County Commissioers' which was to be held on Monday the 2nd day of November was continued to Tuesday the 3rd day of November because of an important meeting with the State Road Commission on Monday which was attended by Commissioner Walton.
Routine work with the foremen of the road districts was conducted. COUNTY EMPLOYEES TO RETIRE AT AGE 65.EXCEPTION MADE TO ELECTIVE OFFICERS
A motion was made by Commissioner Marion Hazleton, seconded by Commissioner Bartell, and unanimously carried, that when County employees other than elective officers reach the age of 65 years, that employ-ment be terminated with the County.
EXTENSION SERVICE TO MAKE PURCHASES OUT OF BUDGET ALLOWANCE THIS YEAR
A motion was made by Commissioner Bartell, seconded by Commissioner Hazleton, and unanimously carried, that Mr. Argyle, County Agent be allowed to make the following purchases in the total amount of $359.05 and to be taken out of the 1959 budget:

ASSESSOR TO ATTEND ASSESSOR'S SCHOOL
It was unanimously agreed that the County Assessor be allowed the sum of $75.00 for two days attendance at the Assessorfs School at Salt Lake City, Utah, on the 10th and llth of December.
COMMISSIONER HAZLETON AND DOCTOR GOON TO ATTEND PUBLIC HEALTH CONFERENCE IN SALT LAKE CITY
A motion was made by Commissioner Bartell, seconded by Commissioner Walton, and unanimously carried that Marion Hazleton be allowed $90 and Dr. Goon allowed $75 for attending the Public Health Conference in Salt Lake City on the 5th and 6th of November, 1959.
EXPENSES ALLOWED FOR MEETING WITH STATE ROAD COMMISSION
It was unanimously agreed that Wm. C. Walton be allowed $60 for expenses to Salt Lake City to meet with members of the State Road Commission.
COMMISSIONERS INTERVIEW T. OREN ZUFELT FOR REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE MAN ON COUNTY EQUIPMENT
T. Oren Zufelt was present by appointment in regards to be being hired as repair and maintenance man on county equipment. References were presented and were very favorable. Mr. Zufelt has been employed bythe National Lead Company for the past 1 1/2 years and has the reputation of being a capable and efficient man.
It was unanimously agreed that Mr. Zufelt would enter the employ of San Juan County as a repair and main-tenance man about December 15, 1959 or after his work with National Lead is completed.
