Monticello, Utah Aug. 3, 1948

Regular meeting of the Board of County Commissioners commenced at 10:00 o'clock A. M. Chairman N. W. Sitton and John D. Rogers and Clerk, Pearl Butt in attend-ance.

Oden Proctor representing the Lion's Club suggested that the Fair Grounds not be rented for pasture again but that it be made available for public use,- that is so that race horses may be exercised and trailed on the track and ropers may practice,, and for ot her Rodeo events. It was moved by Sitton and seconded by Rogers that the care of the Fair Grounds be turned over to the Rodeo Committee, said Committee to see that the property there be well taken care of. Carried.

At the request of Mrs. Thomas Martinez, it was voted to assign one of the County Hospital Contracts to Shone Martinez who is confined to the Hospital.

Minutes of the previous meeting read and approved.

BL -ANDING AIRPORT

On motion by Sitton and seconded by Rogers it was voted to increase the check promised to the Blanding Airport from $200.00 to $500.00. This to come out of Exhibition Fund.

TAX LEVY

It was moved by Rogers and seconded by Sitton to set the tax levy the same as of last year, to-wit:

CARETAKERS SALARY

Mr. Sitton moved that the caretaker's salary be increased 25% effective as of July 1, 1948. Mr.. Rogers seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. It was also agreed that Pearl Walton be paid 75 cents per hour for work on Abstract Records.

JUSTICE RESIGNATION

Lin C. Thompson tendered his resignation as Justice of the Peace of Blanding, It was voted unanimously to accept Mr. Thompson's resignation.

HOSPITAL FINANCIAL STATEMENT

George M. Palmer, Cahirman of the San Juan Hospital Board submitted the financial statement for the year ending June 30, 1948. The Board voted to accept the report.
