MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS' MEETING HELD IN REGULAR SESSION ON TUESDAY, THE 2nd DAY SEPTEMBER, 1969.

Commissioner Hazleton was excused as he was attending the Utah State Law Enforcement Planning Agency meet Meeting opened at 10:00 O'clock A. M. with Commissioner Black in the Chair. in Salt Lake City
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Commissioner Young moved to approve the minutes as read, Commissioner Black seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.
WATER RESOURCE MEETING DSICUSSED
Devon Hurst met with the Commission to discuss the meeting scheduled in Salt Lake City on September 4th. Mr. Hurst emphasized the importance of the out-lying Counties working together to retain water rights in the Colorado River. Feasible sites and projects within San Juan County were discussed.

This will acknowledge receipt of your application for technical assistance totaling $15,000.00 from the
Four Corners Regional Commission for a feasibility survey of an airport site investigation near the LaSal
Junction area south of Moab that could serve both Grand and San Juan Counties as well as the small nearby Colorado communities.
Four Corners Regional Commission number 9-Q-#41113 has been assigned to this project. Please refer to this number in any future correspondence you may have with us concerning this project.
This project is now under active review and we will contact you should additional information be necessary.

T.V. MATTERS - K.U.E.D Channel # 7 Equipment Installed (Comes in an # 2)
Bruce Stevens met with the Commission and reported that the Educational Channel equipment is all installed, but as no broadcasting was given out over the week-end, he could not check the grade of reception. Mr. Stevens also reported that he had borrowed equipment and installed 10 watts on channel 13, also that he had checked reception in Gouldings and Aneth areas and channel 13 reception was good.
APPLICATION TO FCC APPROVED BY COMMISSION
Commissioner Young introduced the motion authorizing Chairman Hazleton to sign an application to the Federal Communications Commission for authority to make changes in a television broadcast translator station. (Channel 12 to channel 13) Commissioner Black seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.
Robert Goode met with the Commission and discussed matters pertaining to gravel pit locations and prices within the County.
SHERIFF REPORTS ON VANDALISM
Sheriff Musselman reported on the County-owned equipment that had been recently damaged by vandals. Road crews had left the equipment in the Johnson Creek area and on the mountain road project west of Monticello. The Sheriff reported that 60 gallons of gasoline were taken, a fan belt cut, gravel had been dumped from its carrier and wires had been crossed. Total cost of the damages had not been computed, and action to be taken was under discussion.
