Monticello, Utah August 2, 1949
The Board of County Commissioners met this day at 10:00 o'clock in the Clerk's office. All members and the Clerk present.
It was moved by Rogers and seconded by Sitton that the County purchase a Ross Snow plow, complete with hand Hydraulic power,from the Arnold Machinery Company at $1565.47. Vote unanimous.
A motion was made by Sitton and seconded by Rogers to transfer the funds in,the Delinquent Tax Fund in the amount of $371.41 to the County General Fund. And to transfer $331.87 from the Indigent Poor fund to the Public Welfare Fund. Carried unanimously.
Upon motion of J. .W. Crowley and seconded by John.D. Rogers it was voted unanimously to accept the bid made by Ben K. Hess and Bert A. Warren to paint the exterior wood trim, the interior wood trim and to calsomine the interior walls of the Court house at a price of $1505.00 provided that they bidders would paint and renovate two tables in the office of the Clerk and recorder. was
A motion/made by Crowley and seconded buy Sitton to terminate the lease on the office space occupied by the Farm Home Association as the space was needed for a County Welfare office. Carried unanimously.
John D. Rogers moved that the following persons be named members of the County Welfare Board:
Alma J. Redd, Blanding, for a term terminating March 31, 1955 K. S. Summers, Monticello, " " " " " " H. U. Butt, Monticello, " " " " " 1953 Hilda Nielson, Bluff " " " " " " " Ollie 0. Sitton, Monticello for a term terminating March 31, 1951 Marian 0. Nielson, Blanding " " " " " " ".
the motion was seconded by Crowley and carried unanimously.
John D. Rogers was appointed temporary chairman. The Clerk was instructed to write the members notifying them of their appointment, also to write the State Chairman asking if he would care to attend the organization meeting.
It was moved by Rogers, seconded by Crowley and carried unanimously to set the tax levy for the year 1949 as follows:
County general 5.5 Mills Hospital 3.0 Mills County Road 1.0 Mills weed and Rodent 1.0 Mill
