The regular meeting of the Board of County Commissioners convened at 10:00 A. M. All members and the Clerk were in attendance.

COMB WASH ROAD

Joe Cooper, representing the mining intrests in White Canyon asked if the County was willing to help build a road down the Comb Wash to connect with an old road there, as it is impossible to travel the road over the Elk Mountain during the months when the snow is deep. The Commissioners agreed that if the miners, stock men , V. C. A. and all persons interested in using the road would make a survey as to what is needed and cooperate in the construction that the county would help.

GRAVEL TO A.E.C.

It was agreed that the County would approve the request to obtain from the State Road Commission, 1000 cu. yds. of 1" gravel (untreated) @ $1.00 per yd., the same to be sold to the A.E.C. for building roads at their plant at the same price.

ARMY TRUCK

The Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids on the sale of the four wheel drive Army Model Chevrolet truck. Also to notify Claude Foy to that effect.

ABATEMENT

. It was moved by Rogers and seconded by Crowley that Mrs. Pauline Eichen-berger be allowed the Widow's abatement on taxes assessed to Carl A. Eichenberger.

LETTER TO GOVERNOR

The Clerk was instructed to write a letter to the Governor and one to the State Road Commission protesting the postponement of the building of the six mile strip of road known as the Peter's Hill road.

APPORTIONMENT OF B & C FUNDS

A motion by Crowley and seconded by Rogers and carried unanimously was to apportion the B & C Road Funds as follows:

County wide maintenance $ 17925.15

Monticello District 12750.00

Blanding District 13000.00

East District 12 750.00

Bluff 500.00

La Sal 2000.00

Total $ 58925.15

MOAB AIRPORT

Pursuant to a request from the Bureau of Land Managements:

Commissioner J. D. Rogers made a motion, seconded by J. W. Crowley, and carried that the follwoing language be approved to be included in the application for lands applied for by Grand and San Juan Counties for airport purposes, and that the said language be included in the instruments of conveyance from th the United States.

"The grantor shall have the right during the existence of any National emergency declared by the president of the United States of America, or the Congress thereof, to the full, unrestricted possession, control and use of the premises, or any part thereof, without charge; except that the grantor shall be responsible during the period of such use for the full cost of maintaining the premises or any portion thereof, so used, and shall pay a fair rental for the use of installation or structures which have been added thereto.WITHOUT Federal Aid."

It was moved by Rogers and seconded by Crowley and carried that the bid

made by Kieth Jewks to buy under contract the S1/2SW1/4, NE1/4SW1/4, NW1/4SE1/4 of Section 28, Township 33 South, Range 23 East, at $1.00 per acre be accepted. A down

payment of $32.00 was made with the bid,
