Monticello, Utah Feb. 1, 1949

The regular meeting of the Board of County Commissioners commenced at 10:00 A. M. all members and the Clerk in attendance.

E. 0. Biggs, County Agent and Clement Johnson met with the Commissioners and presented the Weed and Rodent Control program for the year 1949. It was moved by Rogers and seconded by Crowley that the budget be approved as set up. Voted unanimous-ly to do so.

Mr. Biggs suggested that the County sponsor a County Fair. Mr Sitton moved that the County set aside $300.00 for this project. The motion was seconded by Mr. Rogers. Carried unanimously.

The Sheriff was instructed to buy new mattresses and blankets for the jail. and to get a bid for the plastering and kalsomining of the jail and a room to be used as an office for the Sheriff.

Minutes of the previous meeting, Jan. 5, read and approved.

Wm. Shea tendered his resignation as a member of the San Juan County Hospital Board. On motion of J. W. Crowley, seconded by J. D. Rogers, Harold Barton was Appointed to fill the vacancy.
