MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS' MEETING HELD IN REGULAR SESSION ON MONDAY, THE 18th DAY OF AUGUST, 1969

Meeting opened at 10:00 O'clock A. M. with Commissioner Hazleton in the Chair.

Minutes of the previous meeting were read. Commissioner Black moved to approve the minutes as read, Commissioner Young seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.

BEER LICENSE REQUESTED AT LA SAL JUNCTION (LES SHIPLER)

Mr. Leslie Shipler met with the Commission to request a Beer License at La Sal Junction. He informed the Commission that Orville K. & Lulu Plank are giving up their business there and he requested that he be granted a license for Beer and carry-outs.

Commissioner Black moved that the license be granted pending approval of the Sherriff's department and payment of the License fee and the bond and surrender of the license of the present operators. Commissioner Young seconded this motion and it carried unanimously.

BLANDING C.of C. INQUIRES ON HWY # 47

A letter having been received from the Blanding Chamber of Commerce regarding certain phases of Hwy # 47, Commissioner Black stated that he would meet with the Chamber this week and clarify the matter to them.

OLJATO CHAPTER REQUESTS RECREATION FACILITIES

A letter was received from the Oljato Chapter requesting recreation facilities in the Oljato area.

SHERIFF'S CARS DISCUSSED

The Commissioners instructed the Sheriff to get the specifications the State uses for Sheriff's cars and then open bids, possibly in October of this year.

Lawrence Calliham met with the Commissioners to discuss the delay on the Ucolo Rosd.

The Commissioners imformed Mr. Calliham that the money the County had has been used as matching funds and in this way about 3 times the amount of road work will be able to be accomplished. Aslo, that bids will be let possibly by the 15th of September and the grade and drain and base coat should be completed this Autumn and the surfacing next year.

Bryant Brady informed the Commission that an expert on Resource Development is visiting the County this week.

Commissioner Black moved that the above abatements be approved, Commissioner Young seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.

Blanding Launch Area: The period from 8 A. M. September 3, 1969 to 8 P. M. of September 3rd is hereby

declared a firing period.

Blanding Launch Area: The period from 8 A. M. September 4, 1969 to 8 P. M. of September 4th is hereby

declared a firing period.

Athena Area # 2: The firing period formerly scheduled for August 21st at 6 A. M. is hereby cancelled.
