MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS' MEETING HELD AT MONTICELLO, UTAH ON NOVEMBER 16,1959, 10 A.M.
Commissioner's meeting opened at 10 A. M. with all commissioners and deputy clerk present, Wm, C. Walton conducting.
HOLIDAY CLOSING DAYS TO BE OBSERVED BY COUNTY
On motion of Commissioner Bartell seconded by Commissioner Hazleton the following closing days were design- ated as HOLIDAY CLOSING DAYS, and will be observed by San Juan County,Utah:
New Year's Day (January) Labor Day (September)
Memorial Day (May) Veteran's Day (November)
Independence Day (July 4th) Thanksgiving (November)
Utah Pioneer Day (July 24th) Christmas (December)
COUNTY ATTORNEY ASKED TO NEGOTIATE WITH STATE TAX COMMISSION
Motion was made by commissioner Hazleton that the county clerk instruct the county attorney to exercise
pressure with the State Tax Commission for some reasonable settlement of delinquent taxes, and for him to
negotiate with State Tax Commission regarding delinquent state assessment, and that the commissioners would
accept their negotiations. He was also asked to inform the State Tax Commission of actions made by Attorney
Duane Frandsen regarding some cases, motion seconded by Commissioner Bartell, and carried.
