MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS' MEETING HELD IN REGULAR SESSION ON MONDAY, THE 16th DAY OF JUNE, 1969

Meeting opened at 10:30 A. M. with Commissioner Hazleton in the Chair.

MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING WERE READ. The Commission requested that the following changes and additions be made: That the County Assessor may Assess, but not change the the assessed valuations without the Board of Equalization approving. Also, that the F.A.A. is an Agency, rather than an Association. With the above corrections, Commissioner Black moved to accept the Minutes. Commissioner Young seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.

FROST BLACK DISCUSSES SPRAY BILL FROM 1966

Frost Black met with the Commission and stated that he did not feel obligated to pay the spray bill on work done in 1966, but he further stated that he would discuss the matter with his Attorney and act accordingly.

COUNTY BOOKS READY FOR AUDIT

The Clerk informed the Commission that the County records are now ready for audit. The Commissioners authorized the Clerk to contact Mr. E. J. Claus of Moab and engage his services as soon as possible.

LETTERS RECEIVED

The FAA replied regarding the site report for Canyonlands National Park Airport. Letter filed.

The State Auditor sent correspondence regarding The Liquor Control Act brought about by Senate Bill 145. Information filed.

A copy of Senator Moss's letter to George B. Hartzog, the Director of National Park Service, was received by Chairman Hazleton.

Contract No. DAAD07-69-C-0236 was received from White Sands Missile Range, fully executed and complete for our files.

A letter from the Forest Service office at Price, Utah: Dated June 13, 1969

Gentlemen:

The date for completing the road development work agreed to in Supplement No. 4 of the cooperative agree-ment entered into on May 9, 1966 is changed from June 30, 1969 to August 15, 1969. The balance of the supplement remains unchanged.

A letter from the Public Service Commission regarding the change in the phraseology in the Aritcles of Incorporation of the Empire Electirc Assn. was received and is on file.

QUALITY FORD SALES GIVEN NOTICE ON DELINQUENT ORDER

The Commissioners instructed the Clerk to notify Mr, Thomas E. Redd, Manager of Quality Ford Sales, that unless the heavy duty trucks are delivered by July 1, 1969, the order will be cancelled.

TOURIST & PUBLICITY MATTERS DISCUSSED

Anne Porter met with the Commission to discuss repairing of the old typewriter in the Civil Defense office.

The Commissioners advised her to wait until next year and budget for a new machine - possibly an IBM model.

Travel Council expenses were discussed and the Commission advised Anne that the Commissioners do not negotiate contracts nor obligate their funds in any way.

VALUATION CHANGES DISCUSSED

The Commissioners discussed changes is assessed valuations with the County Assessor and agreed to consider any changes on Equalization Day.

MISSILE FIRING SCHEDULE

Athena Area # 2: The period from 6 P. M. on June 26th, 1969 to 6:00 A. M. on June 27th, 1969 is hereby declared a firing period.
