MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS' MEETING HELD IN REGULAR SESSION ON MONDAY, THE 15th DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 1969

Meeting opened at 10:30 A. M. with Commissioner Hazleton in the Chair.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Motion for approval was made by Commissioner Black, seconded by Commissioner Young and carried unanimously
ROAD IN LA SAL AREA DISCUSSED
Mr. John Stanley of the San Juan Saw Mill met with the Commission to discuss a road in the La Sal area that travels thru' a corner of land owned by Redd Ranches. Mr. Stanley proposed to make improvements on the road if the County would help with culverts. The Commissioners agreed to furnish some culverts if the road is not restricted for public use. The aforementioned culverts had been been purchased and assigned to this project. BID OPENING ON ANTI-FREEZE
This was the day and hour set for opening of bids for furnishing anti-freeze for San Juan County. The following bids were received:
WESTERN MINE SUPPLY: $1.3685 per gallon in one gallon cans
$1.46 per gallon in one quart cans.
BLACK OIL COMPANY: $1.39 per gallon for six 1 gallon cans.
$1.47 per gallon for twenty four 1 quart cans $1.34 per gallon for 55 gallon drum
Commissioner Young moved to accept the low bid of Western Mine Supply, Commissioner Black seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.
A list of the approved "B" Road Projects was received from the State Road Commission.
Road Superintendent Dave Guymon and Foreman George Barry met with the Commission to discuss the new construction at the Monticello Airport.
Insurance on County-owned property was discussed and the Commission considered having an appraiser come and evaluate the needed insurance for County property.
COUNTY AGENT DISCUSSES RODENT CONTROL
Blaine Jones reported to the Commission that the Fish & Wildlife Dept. are not in favor of any program of eradication of prairie dogs until a study is made of the infested areas. Following the study, they might agree to a control program, but not total eradication.
Notice was received that San Juan Countys contribution to the Southeastern Utah Economic Development District in the amount of $1600. is now due. These dues will be paid after January 1, 1970

is hereby declared a firing period.

hereby declared a firing period.
