MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS' MEETING HELD ON APRIL 15th, 1959, at 10 A. M.

Meeting opened with all Commissioners and Clerk present.

DUANE SHAFFER ASKS FOR EXTENSION OF TIME IN PAYMENT OF DELINQUENT TAXES

Duane Shaffer asked for an extension of time for payment of delinquent taxed in a letter received by the Board of County Commissioners. The matter was referred to the County Attorney for answering. As the taxes are due on an equity in State land they must be considered as personal taxes and are due and payable in the year in which they are assessed.

BIDS RECEIVED ON HEATING SYSTEM FOR BLUFF JAIL The following bids were received : SOUTHWESTERN GAS & APPLIANCE, INC.

San Juan County Monticello, Utah

Subject: San Juan County Jail, Bluff, Utah. Gentlemen:

We, Southwestern Gas & Appliance, Inc. of Monticello, Utah, submit proposals one, two, and three respec-tively.

Proposal One: We propose to furnish, installs and maintain for one year,

One 40 gallon Automatic Water Heater, with a 10 year Warranty, One 250 gallon Propane Tank with a working pressure of 200 pounds, One FA65 Forced-Air Panelray with a 65,000 BTU per hour in-put, for the total sum of $539.50.

Proposal Two: Same as Proposal One with the exception of a 500 gallon tank, for the total sum of $614.50.

Proposal Three: Same as proposal One and Two with the exception of a 1000 gallon tank instead of 250 gallon or the 500 gallon tank, for the total sum of $814.50.

These proposals do not include the price of filling optional propane tank. We do quote the price per gallon as 13cents.

We hope these figures meet with your approval and we will be notified immediately, so that we may proceed with the project.

We propose to furnish and install; one model 65-F.A. forced air panelray, one 40 gallon glass-lined 10 year water heater, one 250 gallon L.P.G. tank.

For a total of $520.00.

Gentlemen:

We propose to furnish and install;

One 100,000 BTU Crane down draft furnace with separate opening to rest room, office, and jail section. Opening into jail will be 3 1/2" x 14", which will have metal grill on. All openings will be adjustable, for amount of heat wanted. Furnace is equipped with thermostat, filter, 100% -safety shut off, etc. While this furnace is over-sized, it will produce only the amount of heat called for by the thermostat, making this a very practical and efficient installation. We were able to buy these furnaces on a special discount mak-ing it possible for us to do this installation for $200.00; less than usual.

One 40 gallon glass-lined 10 year water heater. Total price for the above $400.00.

One 250 gallon L. P. G. tank installed $188.00

BID ACCEPTED

A motion was made by Commissioner Bartell, seconded by Commissioner Hazleton, and carried, that the bid made by Smith Plumbing & Heating and in the amount of $520.00 be accepted.

WHITE CANYON MINING COMPANY ACCEPTS COMPROMISE OF $12,000 MADE BY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

A compromise having been made by the Board of County Commissioners in regards to the refund of taxes which have been overpaid by the White Canyon Mining Company has been accepted by the Mining Company, and a motion was made by Commissioner Hazleton, seconded by Commissioner Bartell, and carried, that the Board is in full agreement with the Attorneys, Senior and Senior, of the White Canyon Mining Company, wherein they state their approval of the compromise of taxes in the amount of $12,000.00.
