MINUTES OF TFS BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS' MEETING HELD AT MONTICELLO, UTAH ON DECEMBER l4,' 59-10 A.M. Meeting opened at 10 A. M. with all commissioners present, also deputy clerk. Win. C. Walton conducting. MEETING SCHEDULED WITH GRAND COUNTY COMMISSION
Through a letter from H. B. Evans, of Grand County Commission, a request was made for a meeting date in which Grand County Commission could meet with San Juan Commission. Wm. C. Walton contacted Mr. Evans by telephone and a meeting date was arranged for January 11, 1960, which would fall on the commissioner's regular meeting day, that of the second Monday in January, I960.
SAFETY SERVICE OBSERVATION REPORT CALLED TO ATTENTION OF ROAD FOREMEN AND SHERIFF
A photostat copy of a safety service observation report together with a letter was sent to the road fore-men of the districts requesting that all drivers in county employ respect the speed limit law while operating a county vehicle, otherwise services will be terminated. The same request was made of the Sheriff department by the county commissioners. A letter was written to the Farmers Insurance Group in-answer to the Safety Service Observation Report recently received regarding a speed limit violation ad-vising the company that appropriate action had been taken on the matter.
EXPENSE CHECKS APPROVED FOR COMMISSIONERS
Travel expense checks for meeting attendance at Salt Lake City, Utah for the commissioners were approved as follows: Wm. C. Walton $75.00 (2 days); Leonard J. Bartel- $75.00 (2 days); and Marion H. Hazleton $90.00 (3-days). Meeting on December 18, would be with State Parks Commission.

A motion was made by Commissioner Hazleton, seconded by Commissioner Bartell and/ carried, that San Juan County bill Duane Frandsen, dba San Juan Abstract Co., for room rental in the amount of $75.00 per month effective as of January 1, 1960.

REQUEST MADE FOR FRANCHISE
Duane Frandsen, acting attorney for party concerned, met with commissioners in regular session requesting that the county issue a franchise to operate a ferry in the vicinity of White Canyon, San Juan County, Utah to HITE FERRY & TRANSPORTATION COMPANY, a corporation. F. Bennion Redd, county attorney, was asked to take care of the matter and prepare a franchise and mail to D. A. Frandsen, at Price, Utah.
LOCAL SALES & USE TAX CHECK RECEIVED BY COUNTY
A check in the amount of $6,223.71 was received from Utah State Tax Commission, which represents the local sales and use tax collected for San Juan County for the period July 1, 1959 to November 16, 1959. A voucher was enclosed showing the gross amount collected less 2% retained by the Tax Commission for administrative expenses.
LETTER TURNED TO COUNTY ATTORNEY
A letter addressed to Marian Bayles, County treasurer, from Campbell requesting a tax refund was
handed to F. Bennion Redd, County Attorney, the matter to be taken care of by him.
