MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS' MEETING HELD AT MONTICELLO, UTAH ON OCTOBER 13, 1959 at 10 A.M.
Monday the 12th day of October having been a holiday in observance of Columbus Day, Commissioners' Meeting was held in regular session on October 13th at 10 A. M.
Commissioners Hazleton and Bartell were present, Mr. Walton having been excused from being in attendance, and Mr. Hazleton acting as chairman.
COUNTY AGENT DISCUSSES DROUTH CONDITIONS IN SAN JUAN
Rell Argyle, County Agent was present to discuss the drouth situation within the County and reported that the South part of the County is quite hard hit by drouth but that the North part of the County is in good condition. He further stated that he had sent questionaires to stockmen within the County for their re-action to having the County designated as a Drouth Striken Area and the returns were incomplete as yet.
MILEAGE PAYMENTS ADJUSTED WITHIN COUNTY
A motion was made by Commissioner Bartell, seconded by Commissioner Hazleton, and carried, that mileage payments will be made as follows in the County:
8 cents per mile for everything except County Nurses who will be paid 8 1/2 cents per mile and the weed control man who will be paid 10 cents per mile and special ambulance mileage will be 10 cents per mile.
COMMISSIONERS DESIRE MEETING WITH MEMBERS OF BLANDING CITY COUNCIL IN REGARDS TO BLANDING JAIL
The Clerk was directed to write a letter to the Blanding City Council stating that the County Commissioners or a representative desires to meet with the Blanding City Council in regards to the operation and main-tenance of the Blanding Jail. The motion was made by Commissioner Bartell, seconded by Commissioner Hazleton, and carried.
CIVIL DEFENSE VEHICLES TO BE INSURED
The Clerk was instructed to have the vehicles obtained through surplus property for Civil Defense pur-poses insured for public liability and property damage. The vehicles are as follows: 1 Fire Truck, 1 Dodge Power Wagon, 1 1/2 Ton Jeep.
