Monticello, Utah Nov.11,1947 The Board of County Commissioners met this day in regular meeting in the Clerk's
office at lO:OO o'clock A. M. N. W. Sitton, John D. Rogers, L. J. Bartell and Celrk,
Pearl Butt in attendance, also wm. Ervin Palmer.
A petition from H. U. Butt to purchase the N.W. 1/4 NE1/4 Section 8, township 33 So. Range 26 East, S. L. M. was pesented. It was moved by John D. Rogers and seconded by L. J. Bartell that this tract of land be sold to Mr. Butt at a price of $1.00 per acre and the County reserve one-half of the oil and mineral rights. Vote unamilous. The Clerk was instructed to make the deed.
It was moved by N. W. Sitton and seconded by L. J. Bartell that in the future at least, one-half the oil rights be reserved on any lands sold by the county. Vote unanimous.
E. 0. Biggs, County Agent, reported that the State Weed Conference would be held in Salt Lake Friday Morning,. Nov. 14, 1947 and requested that a member of the Weed and Rodent Control and a member of the Board of Commissioners attend. It was decided that L. J. Bartell represent the commissioners at this meeting.
Mr. Biggs also announced that the 4~H Achievement Program would be held at teh Monticello High school building , and requested that one of the board attend. John D. Rogers was delegated to do this.
Mrs. Inez Conway asked for an adjustment on her taxes. The Commissioners explained to her that the assessment was not on the house alone but that the car and some machinery was attached to it. It was unaminously agreed that a drill-rig assessed to her and which had been sold more than a year before would be taken off as an erronous assessmnet.
The petition of Ross Fillerup as to the assessment on his house was considered and John D. Rogers and Wm. Ervin Plalmer were delegated to investigate the matter and ascertain as to when the house was built.
A bill from Weston L. Bayles asking for $500.00 for services rendered in obtaining the hospital buildings was received. Voted unaminoisly to refuse the application.
Minutes of previous meetin were read and approved.
It was moved by Rogers and seconded by Bartell that the B. & c. Road funds be apportioned as follows:

Lynn Palmer reported that teh T-D-14 now on hand could be traded straight across for a new T-D-9- It was unaminouily aggeed that Mr. Palmer be given authority to make

trade if a satisfactory deal can be made.
Wm. Ervin Palmer tendered his resignation as Assessor to take place Nov. 16. Moved by Sitton and seconded by Bartell to accept Mr. Palmer's resignation as of this date if a successor can be obtained. The name of Platte D. Lyman was suggested and it was moved by Bartell and seconded by Sitton to appoint Mr. Lyman to the office of assessor provided he was approved by the Republican party.
